How Can I Start an Online Business That is Able to

December 9th, 2010 by helloboy

post by rolex cellini

This question may at first seem to be incredibly rich, if not destined to disappoint and shock. However, I am pleased to say that there really is a possible way to develop an online business model that once created, can massively expand, with little extra effort from you, as the designer, or implementer of the system. Please do not confuse the above, with the idea that you can be lazy, and just see the income pour in. To be frank, it simply does not work that way.

However, you are probably now questioning my title. Let me explain.

There are numerous online business models, too many to mention here. However, I will concentrate on the membership site model. The most important point I want to convey here is that you can work smart, by producing a quality product, that once bought, sells again, and again, with little extra convincing advertising and marketing. For the sceptical amongst you, I will endeavour to explain further.

The idea of a membership site is to provide valuable content, that is hopefully relevant, and provides a solution to people’s problems, or information, or satisfies a series of wants and needs. By achieving this (easier said than done, I know), you will gradually build a loyal client base. Like most things, when a client is getting what they want, at good value, they will tend to remain a client.

Expanding on this point, remember that a membership site is a site with articles, videos, information, weekly or monthly additions, and so on. The crux of this model now comes into play. Developing, and maintaining your membership site requires the same amount of work, regardless of the number of members you have. Assuming that you are charging a set fee per month for your site, once you have enough members to cover your costs, the rest is pure profit, or as I say, cream on the cake. The above point is the basis on which I say that you can create a massively profitable business online, with little extra effort. It is the absolute example of working once, and being paid over and over again.

Naturally, there are variations of this membership model, in that it may be an ongoing membership, or it may be structured into a course series over a particular number of months, and so on. Whichever way you go, you will reap benefit, from both existing clients, as well as new ones. However, a point to note, is that if your site is designed to provide a course, for say, four months, you are more likely to keep your clients for the full four months, instead of them possibly just dropping out of an indefinite membership time.

A History of Dolls for the Prospective Collector

October 18th, 2010 by helloboy

For many thousands of years, dolls have been made to look like small people, and children have been attracted to them. When children play with dolls, the dolls become very real to them. Sometimes they represent the child, and sometimes they become storybook characters. Dolls as playthings give children an opportunity to be in charge, to make decisions, to give and receive love, and to practice what they have learned from observing adults. But dolls have not always been playthings.

Before the 15th century, dolls were lifelike objects used in religious ceremonies or created as magical good-luck charms. It is possible they might have been passed down to children after they became worn or were no longer considered powerful, but no proof of this exists. The earliest known dolls were discovered in Egyptian graves dating between 3000 and 2000 B.C. The dolls were made of wood with long hair fashioned from strings of clay or wooden beads. They were painted in geometric patterns. These dolls probably were cult objects–ushabti or tomb figures–buried in graves to take the place of servants. In this way, servants didn’t have to be buried alive to take care of their masters and mistresses.

Not too long ago, a tomb was discovered in the northwestern province of Shanxi in China, which contained 6,000 life-size soldiers and their horses all sculpted from terra-cotta. Each face was different. This was the tomb of Ch’in emperor Shih Huang Ti, and the terra-cotta soldiers were supposed to guard the crypt and protect the emperor on his afterlife journey. The Ch’in dynasty was in power from 221 B.C. to 206 B.C.

The afterlife was very important to ancient people. It was also important to create lifelike images, and some dolls dating back to 600 B.C. even had movable arms and legs and colorful frocks. It was during the Middle Ages (5th century to 15th century) that dolls representing Christianity’s Holy Family became part of Christmas observations. Mexican artisans created ceremonial dolls in the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, based on a story that goes back to the 16th century.

On December 9, 1531, it is said that the Virgin appeared before Juan Diego, a Roman Catholic convert, on a hill near Mexico City. The presence of the Virgin is believed to have saved many lives over the years, and she has been named patron saint of Mexico.

High-fashion “lady” dolls, made in Paris, were the earliest method of showing the latest styles from Paris to a variety of European countries. It is said that in the 14th century an English queen sent for the latest French styles, and the doll was used as a model because there were as yet no magazines, and word of mouth was unreliable.

Wooden dolls were made in 15th century Nuremberg, Germany, by skilled craftsmen called Dockenbacher (toy makers). Nuremberg was close to the main medieval trade routes, and the making of toys became an active industry. The dolls crafted on a lathe by turners were especially popular. Rattle dolls–hollow dolls filled with dried peas or pebbles–made a satisfying noise when shaken. Erzebirge, on the German border, was also noted for its turned wooden dolls, some with movable arms.

By the 17th century, a profusion of dolls began to be produced as playthings for children instead of merely as sacred objects. One doll maker introduced a wax “baby” doll with movable eyes and a crying voice, although most dolls were still being designed as adults. Germany was the leading producer of dolls and toys until the 18th century.

In the 19th century Great Britain the Montanaris were popular English doll makers. Augusta Montanari and her son Richard attracted public attention when their work was displayed at the Great Exhibition of 1851, held at the Crystal Palace in London. The collection consisted of a series of dolls representing all ages from infancy to womanhood, arranged in several family groups. The charm of the Montanari wax baby dolls led to the worldwide popularization of baby dolls, which previous to this time had been very rare.

Why Having a Mentor is So Important

October 11th, 2010 by helloboy

If you are in the network marketing industry and are still trying to figure things out, you have probably realized by now that you can’t do this alone.

When I started out, I really connected with my sponsor and he had told me that he would be there for me. Little did I know that what he really meant was that he would push me in the right direction and then I was on my own. Unless your sponsor is willing to take you on as a student, they aren’t going to be there for you to help you learn. That just takes away from what they need to do in order to continue to grow their business.

That can be the confusing part about this industry. You see, when you decide to join the network marketing industry, it’s your responsibility to learn how this industry works. You need to constantly learn about this industry because it changes all the time. You need to learn how to market, learn how to speak to prospects, learn how to present yourself, learn the different avenues for advertising, etc. There is a lot to this business and without the proper support, you will definitely fail.

Think of Tiger Woods or Donald Trump whose teachers were their fathers. Mike Dillard and Dennis Karganilla’s teacher was Joe Schroeder. All successful people need to learn how to be successful and they can’t do it on their own. So go out, find you a mentor and/or teacher and follow their direction. If you commit to applying what they teach you, you will find yourself at the top in no time at all. I am fortunate enough to have found a fantastic young lady that is helping me learn and grow and by taking her advice, my business has exploded in a very short time.

This industry is awesome and it can be everything you had hoped. Never give up because anything is possible.

How to Plan a Great Surprise Party

October 11th, 2010 by helloboy

Of all the types of parties that a host can take on, there is no greater challenge than trying to plan a surprise party. On the other hand, there is no type of party that is more fun to plan and host. Guests seem to really enjoy the aspect of being in on the surprise and, if the surprise is truly maintained, the honoree is typically thrilled and shocked at the development. As important as good planning is to any party, it is tenfold more vital with surprise party planning, since the host must make all decisions alone. With dinner party planning, for instance, the host can ask for opinions and preferences. The host must absolutely consider every single aspect of surprise party arrangements beforehand.

At least five to six weeks before the date of the party, the host should prepare invitations and start making arrangements regarding location and food. If the party is to be held at a private home, parking is a major consideration that must be handled early on, so that the honoree does not arrive at the home only to see a dozen cars parked along the street and in the driveway – that is a dead giveaway. Unlike dinner planning, where the guest list is often designed around a common interest, the guests for a surprise party should all be close to the honoree. It adds to the surprise element considerably if old or distant friends can be included.

Invitation details are vital to maintaining the surprise aspect. Unlike dinner party planning, which should always include invitations sent well in advance, surprise party planning invitations can be sent at the last minute to those who are possibly not trustworthy to keep the secret! Guests should be in place at least thirty (and preferably sixty) minutes before the honoree is set to arrive. It is also a good idea to indicate an ‘after the surprise’ arrival time for those who need to arrive later.

The very best way to keep the honoree busy and clueless is to have a decoy party. Enlist a few trusted friends to do some fake dinner party planning, and then bring her or him to the surprise location. Cell phones and texting are a wonderful tool to let the host know that it is to pass out the noise makers and hide the guests. Above all, remember that the main focus of surprise party planning is to have fun. Even if the honoree somehow finds out about the party, the host is still offering a fun time with food and drinks and good company. Some of the best surprise memories are made from stories about how the cat got out of the bag!

Private Adoption – Sticking To The Custom!

October 2nd, 2010 by helloboy

Adoptions that are arranged by an organization or agency are known as private domestic or simply private adoption. In this, adoption takes place when a birth mother and her child are found privately. In some cases, adoptive parents wish to look for a child by themselves. This is the most widely followed adopting pattern that helps the people concerned.

Private adoption rules are specific every state and province in North America. Some of these laws or rules are flexible while some aren’t. By consulting the social service department of the government or browsing the net, one can learn abut the rules of a particular state and go about the procedure in that way.

Involvement and handwork is the key to completing a private adoption. Though a challenge, it provides an opportunity to learn about the whole process. Knowing and researching about the rules, protocols and regulations of a particular province or state from where adoption is to be done leads to its success. These rules have their own pros and cons about adopting a child. Details of the fee and the person to whom you have to pay are to be known. In private adoption, consent is of main concern. It is important to be aware of when one can sign consent and who can consent to private adoption. Several approvals and notifications are required to place an adoptee with his new family. And it is required to be aware of all this. Also, it is good too know the time period required to complete the whole process. The time of issue of the adoption order is also to be known.

Private and public adoptions have several similarities but have a major dissimilarity. One has to wait longer for a newborn in private adoption than in public. Thus, both the birth mother and adoptive parents have control over the whole process. Moreover, in certain states and provinces, parents who are looking to give away their kid are given the option to choose their adoptee rather than the agency doing it for them.

Health of the baby is given top priority in private adoption which is one of its pros. In this, the birth and the adoptive parents share an open relationship with each other. Thus, parents can get hold on the child’s social and medical records. In this kind of adoption, the adoptee have a complete control over anything that is concerned to the baby. This helps the parents to understand the child’s health conditions and also to prepare themselves to take care of the child accordingly. Adopting privately also costs less. Foreign adoption is costlier than adopting from North America itself. Keeping the cost aside, it is also a known fact that private adoptions are very comfortable for people who want to raise kids of their friends.

Private adoption has its own disadvantages of which scarcity of newborns tops the list. Today, many women decide on terminating their pregnancies if they feel it is unwanted. Some others make up their mind to raise children coming out of unplanned pregnancies. Thus the availability of newborns becomes unpredictable and for parents who don’t wish to wait, private adoption may not be a good choice. Also ,the risk of the birth mother changing her mind about adopting her child out , is involved .This is inspire of giving the natural mother enough time to decide .Since many do not wish to take these risks , they go for international adoption or the like.

The Birth of Delft Pottery

September 22nd, 2010 by helloboy

Delft is the name of a Dutch town famous as a memorial to the seventeenth century imperial and commercial greatness of the Netherlands and for a native painter, Jan Vermeer, who painted sceneries of the said town. Delft is also a name attached to a type of pottery manufactured in that town. Delft pottery was first manufactured in Delft as well as other parts of the Netherlands as an imitation of Chinese porcelain. It also became known and manufactured in England, particularly in Southward, Liverpool and Bristol – although it is not certain as to when exactly it appeared.

Delft pottery began when the Dutch East India Company started importing porcelain wares which easily attracted many. However, when porcelain imports decreased during the Chinese Ming dynasty during the 1640’s, Dutch factories saw the opportunity to create wares that would have the same allure as that of porcelain in response to popular patronage. By 1659, there were already 23 potteries producing delft and this was further increased by the seventeenth century. This period of time between 1640 and 1740 was the great age of delft manufacturing.

Delft pottery is known to be coated with a tin-glaze and painted after. It is made with yellowish or reddish clay that is known to absorb the glaze.

Delft pottery is made by baking the clay, dipping them in liquid tin enamel, and drying them. Afterwards, the pieces are painted and dipped again in glaze before they are fired again.

Delft pottery is known for its glassy appearance, primitive (sometimes, classical) designs, flora and fauna motifs and colors of green, yellow, blue and white – although most examples are in blue and white. This is related to the fact that most of the porcelain wares imported by the Dutch during the Ming dynasty were also in blue and white. A difference between the Chinese blue and white pieces and those of delft manufacturers could be observed in the patterns of some works. Delft pieces, most likely, were painted with many decorations where there were empty spaces on the Chinese wares. There are many examples of delft pottery – like vases and tiles – but the most common are plates and bowls.

The other varieties of delft aside from the blue and white pieces are delft doré and delft noire. Delft doré refers to delft decorated with bird, flower and armorial motifs. It usually has the colors red, green and gold. Delft noire, on the other hand, has its decorations painted against a black ground and resembles Chinese lacquer work.

Delft pottery enjoyed popularity until the emergence of Meissen porcelain ware and the famous English potter Josiah Wedgwood’s creamware. Delft factories struggled during the nineteenth century but the style gained a revived appreciation in the 20th century.

Managing Work – It is No Big Issue If You Keep It

September 22nd, 2010 by helloboy

Caregivers face a problem when it comes spending time with their family and friends. They often tend to over-do their work that their family and friends are left in the dumps. They get wrapped up in their work, which certainly demands a lot from them, so much that rest of the world seems to disappear. Caretakers do have relationships and responsibilities that they often tend to forget when stuck up in this job. You can be a good caretaker of your aging parent or any elderly person, but you should also know that life after work has to be given some importance.

It is not only bad for your friends and relatives but also you and the elderly person. Getting too obsessed with work is not a healthy sign as it won’t be doing any good to you and the elderly parent. Your family or friends would not want you to be overdoing your work and spend very less time with them. It will be disheartening to them to see this happening to you.

Caretakers suffer from loss of sleep or a nervous breakdown working overtime. They even get eating disorders that can lead to their burnout. The best optimum approach would be to keep your work at arm’s length and give equal importance to family and friends.

To have a balanced ratio between work and your family, you have to open out to the elderly person you are working with. It sometimes can be easier with elderly parent than just a mere elder person because the parent will surely be able to understand your plight. You can also talk to them on rational basis explaining to them about your other activities and what you would like to achieve beyond caretaking. The parent can definitely come in terms with you and will see to it that you will not give up your life for just mere caretaking. Often they tend to say things like “I wish he’d be here all the time”. This can be misleading sometimes. The parent knows that you are a mature adult and you will need to manage life and job responsibilities in the best possible way.

There is another person to whom you will have to work it out with. It is your boss at work. You can be frank to him and explain all your problems back at home. These days, well trained and hard working individuals dominate the business arena. This could very well go your way as they will know what it takes to be caretaking and working at the same time. Your boss will help you with your work as well as sitting with you to solve other issues than just throwing you out. Nowadays, people have an added responsibility of taking care of parents apart from the work at office.

If you have the best understanding with your boss at work, it will do you a world of good. He will be there alongside with you when you will have to take your parent to the hospital or to the doctors. In case of emergency, he will be flexible and allow you to work on other days to make up for it. In fact, many employers allow you to work at home thus giving you ample time to take care of your parents and for other activities as well. A few companies offer extended break programs were you can take a good time off your work to manage your caretaking responsibilities. That is invaluable when you are moving your parent from home to an assisted living environment or when your parent is under the weather.

Solicit the support of your loved ones above all. If your mom has to be at grandmas house every evening for few hours, call up your dad or brother to do some cheese and macaroni so that when she is back her work will be cut-off. You can catch up some food joint nearby if you do not have anyone to make food for you. If your family, your friends and your colleagues can help you out managing both your caretaking as well as work at office, it will be mighty helpful for you. But make sure you see them often and spend quality time with them to ensure their support.
